Structural Engineering Branch Manager (Business Development Emphasis) — Denver

Headquartered in Minneapolis, we are expanding our structural engineering presence in the Denver market. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager with Business Development expertise to lead this growth initiative.  The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer with proven leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a passion for driving growth and expanding our client base.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities, including growth areas, trends, customers, or partnerships.
  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan aligned with the company's growth objectives and current marketing strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, gathering feedback and delivering value-added solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, profiles, and sales activity records within the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to drive targeted communication and sales.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions that align with the strategic plan.
  • Work with the marketing team to prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, and other materials that effectively communicate the firm's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align business development efforts and revenue targets with the overall company goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership to internal team, including technical and project management, to align communication and project delivery with business development efforts.
  • Oversee team assignments and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop staff members, promoting professional growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members, as assigned.
  • Serve as a technical resource and guide on complex engineering issues and challenges.
  • Manage branch financial performance, including revenue forecasts, budgeting, and cost control measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Proven track record of successful business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth within the engineering industry.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring a team of engineering professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information and negotiate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including prioritizing tasks, managing resources, and meeting project deadlines.
  • Experience with a major CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Cosential, for example) preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic approach to business development and growth initiatives.
