The architect created a design meant to evoke sailing with a “wave” glass façade, cable-braced entry vestibule, and sloped roof features including a diagonally sloped/curved roof over the mechanical penthouse to mimic sails. The typical construction systems included precast plank supported on interior steel beams/columns and exterior CMU walls, a steel bar joist main roof, and steel purlins to frame the sloped/curved penthouse roof.
