Uniting a Campus With Cost-Effective and Sustainable Design Solutions.

The headquarters design elements connect the expansion to the two existing wings and unite the campus with functional and dramatic gestures like an underground tunnel, a stairway with bench seating and an exterior rooftop patio. Under an aggressive construction schedule and $85M budget, BKBM Structural collaborated weekly with all teams to manage multiple, coordinated construction tasks. Onsite work with contractors and mechanical subcontractors provided better solutions from extensive piping supports and cost-saving uses of structural steel alternatives. 

BKBM Civil worked closely with the local watershed district, city, and wetland specialists to develop a cost-effective stormwater management system that met the local stormwater requirements and helped the project to receive a LEED Platinum rating for the building/site.
